G'Day all,

Just wondering each time I log on you always see the newest memeber listed.
Some of the user names I wonder are they real or not ???
Looking at all the posts you never see the strange ones listed.
Apologies if you are one of these.

Secondly when you check the members list there are loads of people
who are listed that have done nothing.  Please join in.
Again apologies if you are one of these.

Sorry but is was something that has gone through head each time I
see a new member listed.

Thank God it's Friday

Well as for me....my name is really Anne, and the ...  E  ... after the Anne is the first letter of my surname.  :-)  Nothin complicated about me I'm afraid.  The pic of me was taken at Christmas....thus the "star" earrings and "gold" helo on my head. lol.  I'm just a plain ordinary, garden variety, suburban housewife, mother and grannie.  :-)

Squeal

I know Dave mentioned quite a while ago that he was having trouble with porn sites registering and using strange names as a means of getting through the filter.  Could be that.

But we never hear from thnngmxbllbxxx so I wouldn't worry about it.

As for members posting, I don't think members "resign" when they decide they prefer a different site or lose interest in posting.  Others come in and go away again as the mood takes them.  I guess the topics and quality of input influence people a bit too.

Ssssss

well guys..........you ain't gettin rid of little old me.  :-)  I get on several times during the day then after 8pm at night...I'm addicted to this site.

I guess everyone has a reason why they call themselves what they do.....I think this is the first time I've actually used my real name on any site.  I've used my mums name, my daughters name, my pets names....I've used Grannie Annie, or Anski as versions of Anne, but to me this site is "serious" and so I'm serious about being here, though I like a bit of a laugh too of course, I'm undoubtedly crazy in my own quiet little way.  :-)

We get numerous people (or electronic generated bots?) joining this forum on a daily basis. Only rarely is it a real person with genuine interest in Reptiles. Probably 99.9% of members join but then do not get final approval based on their IP address. We figure that if we occasionally delete or not a prove someone that should really be approved, they would likely send an e-mail of complaint anyway and we will then fix it up. So far (if my memory serves me correctly), nobody ever has. This approach has now illiminated pornographic images being posted up which often happened in the past. I actually don't mind most of these images but this is obviously not the place for it and we simply can't have this sort of stuff popping up unannounced for children’s eyes to see (which has happened).

Actually, it's not only inappropriate for childrens eyes, but there are adults too, who find such things offensive....including myself.

Hey Guys,

Bit late but i chose MiddleOfNowhere when i joined this site because i was living (and working) at a mining camp called Wodgina, which is about 110km south of Port Hedland. Had a few questions about the reptiles that scared me to death. Found it to be an excellent site, and when i bought little Strife i thought who better then to learn from then the people who are using this site.

Cheers

Az

It made me chuckle when I revisited this thread today and read Anne’s statement " you will never get rid of me " One distance shot of a muff, and gone was she :-\
