Sounds like you guys are working hard to get them all added, so glad to see it's going forward, you all do a wonderful job :)
Fingers crossed by the time I've got my own place there will be hundreds of herps on the list to choose from, and the import ban will have been lifted and WA will have stopped being such a stick in the mud!

Hahaha I can be optimistic right?

I'm a turtle keeper and am happy to see that Emydura australis is going to be added to the list.

A few sites I've looked at now say that australis is now known as victorae. Is this true and will it have implications if we want to import it from the NT where it is currently sold in pet shops?

Which category will it be in?

Thanks

Any news if they're going to add the next lot and if there are more coming?

Sorry for the delay in replying to your post but I was waiting for department officers to return from leave before requesting an update.

Still no update? Be nice if the additions came before the season ends for easier wild taking.

No updates unfortunately - I suggest that you email Minister.Jacob@dpc.wa.gov.au requesting further information as to the current status of the WAHS submission and the addition of species to the Reptile & Amphibian list of approved species for keeping for further information

Good effort to those who've sent through an email. It will be a bit of a waiting game but we are unfortunately used to it. We will eventually get there.

Ha! Anyone care to have an educated guess as to the definition of "In the near future"?  ???

Have had more email correspondence today.... They are certainly playing hard to get... :/

Have gone from near future, to within a month or 2, to imminent....

(read from the bottom to the top)

Hi Adam

No, not at all, thanks for the clarification.  I took it that you are genuinely interested and that’s why I responded with a quick email response to let you know things are happening.

As indicated, the changes are imminent with a new gazettal.

Regards

Jason

Hi Jason,

Please don’t take this conversation in an “attacking” disposition. Just trying to get some information for the reptile keeping hobby.
There are just a lot of people who have been patiently waiting for this to happen, and we have been told for the last 12-14 months that it would happen on numerous occasions.

Are you able to advise why there has been such a delay, given the changes were approved a year ago?

Regards,

Hi Adam

I would expect gazettal will be within the next month or two.  I can’t give a more definitive answer at this stage.

Thanks for your interest.

Jason

...................

Hi Jason,

What exactly is defined by “the near future”?
A week or 2?
Next month?
Later this year?

Are you able to elaborate at all?

Regards,

Is there an approximate date we can expect them to be on the official gazette?
