Knowledgeable Reptile Vets
« on: September 18, 2013, 07:01:54 PM »
Speaking to a lot of new keepers, question I've been asked a lot is what vet to take their reptile to when in need. I've seen quite a few cases where people have taken their animals to generic vets with minimal reptile experience and some of the treatment / results have been horrific. Unfortunately appears to be not enough publicity for the knowledgeable reptile vets and reluctance from some vets to admit minimal knowledge and refer the animal on to someone more capable. I take mine to Lisa Winters and certainly recommend her. Tim is obviously another long time reptile vet. Hope this assists people that don't have a designated vet to take their animals to.

Lisa is set up in Midland as LDW Veterinary Consultancy. Think Tim was at Wattle Grove?

The unusual pet vet. Havnt had dealings with them personally but they had stand at the expo and had two specialist reptile vets when I was talking to the bloke running it.
Would actually recommend liking their fb page since they post a few of their interesting surgeries and such.

I have always gone to Tim Oldfield at Wattle Grove. He is excellent.
