callie, they are ridge tailed monitors(Varanus acanthurus) there locality is sandfire. ackies is an abreviations created from the species scientific name acanthurus. they grow about 60 cm but most adults will stay around the 50cm mark.

you want an enclosure that is about 1-1.2m long and 50 cm height with heaps of rocks and logs as they love getting under rocks and in hollow logs.
nice hot spot at around 60 degrees with stacked tiles that have enough room between them for the ackies to get between so they can regulate their temperatures and they have the option.
cool end of 28 degress, as with most reptiles just supply a nice warm spot and they'll be right.
probably the best starter monitor that we are aloud to keep.

Bohdi.
