North Western carpet python  Morelia variegata
This particular specimen is of a north western carpet python found on One Arm Point close to Broome.
This specimen is the first officially found so far south west of the far north western region.
I can tell you from my experience when handling this snake that it was extremely pugnacious and I received multiple bites even before I put it through a bit of grief attempting to photo copy its ventral area.
I didn't find any differences in scalation though, and all scales fell within the known scale variances of variegata.
